Again. Early to bed. Slept in 'till 7.48A. Watched Halle Berry in Catwoman for a spell,
Actually cute.Rather see Halle scootin' about as a special fx kitten than Toby Maquire
as a spider. I've grown fond of her as a person after spending the summer driving by her
crib w/a quip or two. Anyway, actually amazed how this lad can be feelin' so tuckered out
as my "weekend" begins. What a mix of people. . .A Roman couple, two from Romania
as well and received a lengthy explanation by a pretty gal about the history of Val the
Impaler who is the origin of Count Dracula. I guess she missed the irony that Hollywood
found Dracula as an inspiration for a Gothic tale and not an attempt at historical accuracy.
None the less, she was quite sincere about her presenattion and I learned a lot as she
explained Val's role as an illegitimate prince educated in the court of the Ottoman empire
to keep the peace as well as the sweep of Saladin the muslim who conquered Constaninople.
I more or less followed the narrative. I'm such a junkie for history. Also had a large family
from Fullerton who were on a reunion voyage. Had fun with them. Oh it gets to be such a blur
one day to the next as I am after all charming and entreating for their generosity just as much
as the costumed figures hustling tips in front of Grauman's theatre.
Woke up trying to stay calm and clear my mind of major concerns. Dinero and the Cape.
Ran out for coffee. Tried reaching Paul as the weather report gave an alarm about Wilma
stirring up high winds into a kick ass No'easeter. No dice. So I reached Bruce for his report
regarding the flooding. Nothing to worry about he said. He passed along the name of guy
who is a heating guy. That's reassuring. He mentioned the once reliable Walter going off Cape
to Conn to care for an ailing Mom. I liked him from my brief encounters chewing the fat.
Bruce mentioned he had some step on toes issues which in a small town can be a problem.
Ah well, the wedda here ain'ty no great shakes yet the sun is pering thru. Cool and autumnal.
9.25A I love to write to get my neurology aligned. Gurumayi's CD is a kick in my commute as
she speaks of chanting God's name,,.Go Vinda, Go Pala..and remarks how our mind loves to grip
worry at every chance it gets. Energy depleting exercise to be sure. Which reminds me that I
am surprised my pal Steve keeps forgetting the oil cap. That's just a local to do item that now is
into week three of not being done. Goodness. Be grateful for what is altho I do like to take
care of small stuff to avoid larger nickel-dime details becoming a wrench in the gears. Alas.
Puzzled by lack of response to Cape offering. Once that business is squared away I'll feel better
as the Boulevard looks like a diminishing return at this juncture in the season. A couple guys
quit I heard. Not exactly any career moves out there behind the wheel. I make the best out of it
enjoying my guests and making them lightne up with some jolly and delight.Take their pictures.
Chick from Beijing sent me our portrait. Cute. Mmmmm. May be a nice pen pal. Of course, she could
be commie spy. Funny to say that. Everyone in the PRC wants to be Adam Smith or Bill Gates.
Christine is her name. I'll pick up the story when I get around to it given my other priorities.
Home sweet home. Must attend to simple stuff. Speakers all blown out from the amp. Why?
Can't get appleworks to open anymore. Still unclear how to empower the eMac eg, add memory,
get programs like Afterfx, Premier, Final Cut Pro, and Word fired up. A few courses of action.
Pappi has fresh down loads. Dave may tweak some elements per operating system. Then Mike is
a Mac hand so he can add a few bells and whistles. I feel so Dur... and techically enept.
Nice to find an iTunes classical radio format as an alternative to kusc. Some Baroque oratorio.
Plans with Dez. Hike. Carve pumpkin. Nearing 10 A, better get the ship underway.Clean house.
Car stuff, seat repair, wax. Check mail. Check with Cape utilities for bills. Make new auto carpet.
Need groceries. Movies in roster: Wallace and Gromit. Catwoman. Costa Bravas "Amen".
